Freestanding bathtubs are also a more modern alternative for traditional designs. They have beautiful lean lines and it floats nicely in the space. Also, there’s something about the simplicity of their shape that makes them look very delicate and more sophisticated. After all, the tub is like a piece of furniture. It has to match the décor and if you love it you just have to have it.
A downstairs powder room is all too often decorated in exactly the same style as the room it happens to adjoin. In most home settings this means the rest room will have the same design as the hallway. However, there is no good reason that your corridor and powder room should share the same wallpaper and flooring. For the smallest room in the home, invest some thought into designing it just as you would for other living spaces. After all, your guests will be likely to pay the powder room a visit and a well designed one will make them feel comfortable in your home.
Tiled walls are very practical in any bathroom or wet room. Break up the monotonous nature of some tiling designs with a few splashes of red here and there. A simple waist level band of red tiling, set against white, is a good look to go for. This will complement other red elements in the room no matter where they are positioned. Alternatively, a vertical stripe of red tiles behind your shower fitting can create a similarly dynamic look.
